Description:
The Veil Nebula Complex, a supernova remnant, formed from a supernova approximately 5,000 - 10,000 years ago.
In the upper left quadrant is the Estern Veil, NGC6992. Above right of center is Pickering's Triangular Wisp, NGC6979, and on the right with the bright star 52 Cygni, is the Western Veil, NGC6960. North is up.
Image was totally reprocessed (using LRGB data from the 21 Jun 2009 image) with:
Lum = 50%Lum + 50%(50%Ha + 50%OIII)
Red = 50%Red + 50%Ha.
Green = 50%Green + 50%OIII
Blue = 50%Blue + 30%Ha
Constellation that it's located in: Cygnus
Imaging Site: Cleveland National Forest, Palomar Observatory Campground, California
