Description:

Comet C/2020 F3 (Neowise). Image taken in the Northwest evening sky after sundown.

The thin blue tail is the ion tail, it always points directly opposite from the Sun.

The white dust tail shows the comet's path in space.

Mount: Tripod

Camera: Canon 1D-x with EF85mm lens at f/ 2. ISO 6400.

Number of sub-images and exposure: 40 images at 2.5 sec exposure.

Image Calibration: Darks and bias.

Planning, control, capture and processing with: Camera tethered to computer via EOS Utility. PixInsight and Photoshop.
